Berry College LIVE Eagle Cam!

January 3, 2016Much activity at the nest means we are approaching egg laying! The parents continue to bring in fresh nesting materials and are mating regularly. Last year’s eggs were laid on January 6 and 9. Thanks to Susan Cookie Karp for the above screen shot.

In our classroom, we have begun following the bald eagle pair that are nesting just south of Chattanooga, at Berry College in Rome, Georgia.  Over the past few years, the college has worked to provide a couple of cameras with live video feed of any activity at the nest.

This year, the bald eagle pair has two eggs in the nest.  They are expected to hatch during the week leading up to Valentine's Day.  Until then, we are watching and learning about the eagles.  And, we are anticipating the arrival of the new eagle chicks!
