M&M's Place Value!

If you assign a place value to each color of M&M's (for instance, red M&M'S are each worth one hundred, and your blue M&M's are each worth one hundredth), you can create a unique number and use it to study place value!  We wrote our M&M numbers in standard form, expanded form, and word form!

Mrs. French, our student teacher from Lee University, led the M&M's activity with Mrs. Ratcliff's homeroom!

Jordan had the number with the greatest value in his class (because he had a 9 in the hundreds place, a 9 in the tens place, and a 9 in the ones place): 999.991

Vinayak had the number with the least value in his class (because he had a zero in the hundreds place): 96.995

Karalyn had the number with the least value in her class (with a 1 in the hundreds place): 196.994

And, Carlos had the number with the greatest value in his class because he had a nine in the hundreds place: 998.991
