4th Grade Fact Families

We have been studying the relationship between multiplication and division. And we are celebrating our progress with our favorite fact families! Some facts are harder to remember than others, so we focused on the hard facts and made them our favorites!

For instance, 8x7 is a tricky fact for many students. So, we studied it carefully. If 8x7=56, then the commutative property tells us that 7x8 also equals 56. Then, we can undo our multiplication with division. So, 56 divided by 8 is 7. And, 56 divided by 7 is 8!
