4th Grade - Race to a Dollar!
Today, the fourth graders put their place value and money counting skills to the test with a game we called "Race to a Dollar"! How do you play? Roll two dice. The number on the dice is the amount of money that you've earned (rolling two sixes means that you've earned twelve cents). Gather the right number of dimes or pennies and add them to your place value chart. Then, your partner gets a turn. Each turn adds to your total. Regrouping is required as ten pennies (in the hundredths place) becomes a dime (in the tenths place). First one to a dollar wins! : )
